The Interactive Project Lab provides travel fellowships for emerging new media developers to attend key industry events across Canada. Qualified applicants are eligible for a grant up to $2,000 to cover anticipated expenses including transportation, accommodation, registration fee, and per diems.

To qualify, applicants must be:

  • a new media producer or developer who has recently graduated or begun working in interactive media
  • developing a current interactive project
  • a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant

Applicants are selected based on the submission of a statement of intent and online portfolio and/or description of project in development.

The 2007-2008 Travel Fellowships will be announced at a later date.

The three recipients of the IPL Travel Fellowships to nextMEDIA 2005 were: Jean-Sébastien Veilleux (Montreal), Jennifer Snyder (Edmonton), and Trevor Haldenby (Toronto).

The two selected candidates for Vidfest 2005 were Ryan Fitzgerald (Winnipeg), and Rob Kerr (Toronto).
